Thank God, Jesus pursued me
He whispered sweet something in my ear,
It took a while for me to hear, I had gotten so used to men whispering sweet nothing all the time.
He promised me an everlasting life but I had my doubts, I was so used to being promised things that never came to be.
He said, I know you, I formed you in your mother’s womb.
I laughed because, even Sipho knew me; he had seen me naked in my mother’s room.

Thank God, Jesus pursued me.
He persistently pursued me, He said call to me and I will answer you and tell you great things.
I sat and thought well the powers are shifting, why am I the one who needs to call.
You see I was lied to, I was made to believe it’s a man’s responsibility to call.
Jesus gave me the power back and told me I could call on him anytime and He would tell me unsearchable things I do not know.
You see deep down I am still a traditional girl, I like the idea of learning from above.

Thank God, Jesus pursued me.
He said, come to me and abide with me. When you cross deep rivers, I will be with you.
When you walk through fire, you won’t be burned or scotched by flames.
I was afraid to trust, I was afraid to believe.
He said, do not be afraid for I am with you. I will hold you with my victorious right hand.

Then He finished me when He said, delight in me and I will give you the desires of your heart.
There is nothing I would not do for you, even on the cross I will die to save you from sin.
Cause I had seen a few men in my life but no man has ever shown me this kind of love.
Surely this man is talking about unconditional love.
What’s in it for you I asked?
Salvation, your salvation is all I am after.
