Where Do You Find Rest?

For the last couple of months I have been tired and troubled. Tired with worry and troubled by things I am struggling to change nor understand why God let’s them happen.
Exhaustion and troubles can affect you in many different ways. You become less productive and disengaged. You do what you can to paddle while in the water but you are no longer in it for the experience.
What do you do when you need rest, where do you go when everywhere you go expects something from you? Have you ever needed quiet time with no responsibility at all? Do you ever want to lay and be served when you have spent many days serving.
Do you go through the motions, hiding behind a routine, functioning in a function that is disfunctional? How do you break to find rest? Where do you go?
The Bible says  in the book of Matthew “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).
We are tired, heavy laden because of our self righteousness. The Bible says, no matter what we do according to law we will never earn salvation but by coming to the Lord, by coming to Jesus we are choosing for Him to carry our load. We go to the Lord to find rest.  He says, “come to me all ye who are haeavy laden. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light
We are sinful in nature and our acts are polluted by sin. Sin is heavy in its nature. Anything done by a Christian that is misaligned to the vision of God is heavy like a sin. Coming to the Lord gives us alignment.
You see when there is alignment the weight is shifted. The burdens are evened out to balance. This is why we come to the Lord.

Finding rest is biblical, in the midst of your turmoil, in your ups and downs recognize time to find rest. Hear God when He tells you to find rest. Jesus  says to His disciples in  the book of Mark , because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
The scripture speaks to the hecticness of life, the disciples had neglected to feed themselves because they were so busy. They were so busy doing the things that disciples do. In another version this scripture is brought even more closer to home.

MARK 6: 32  NLT translation says we have to “Let go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.”

I intend to let go of myself for a little while, to find rest and refuel (I am going to a place that was home to me, where I will eat everything that is offered, no stress, no worry,  remove make up, cleanse my skin and nourish my hair. I will words of wisdom from genuine conversations with my mother. We will speak of the past, the present and the future) because the works ahead is a mountain, but a mountain we will climb! I will rest so I can climb this other mountain too! I will recharge and get ready for the magic of 2024!

I wish you rest and a blessed holiday
